No Books or Kindle allowed on vacation

&

I was telling my partner how I have to review a book and post it and his response was WHEN, while we are on vacation, Your taking books????  He has been joking that I am having an affair with my Kindle but I don't think he will pleased with this for the trip, maybe I can get away with reading on the plane.

So, to be fair, we have been begging for time together, no children, no parents, no siblings, no work, no responsibility other than having fun with each other and watching the World Cup final games.  We are both fans.

So I am really considering not taking my kindle or a book, OMG.  It is only 5 days but usually I can finish 2 books while on short holidays without our 3 year old.

We go away next Thursday, I need to finish Horns by Joe Hill, probably will on Friday and going to try and finish A Note from an Old Acquaintance before we go, July 7 is suppose to be my review date anyway.

Plus I wanted to read To Kill a Mockingbird and have review up for July 11, the anniversary but this doesn't seem possible right now.

I am feeling a little stressed about this, that so says I am addicted to my books and blogging about them.  :-)

Do you feel my pain?  :-0

  3. Boy do I feel your pain! I don't think I can be without a book on me! I always picture myself on vacation relaxing with a lovely drink in one hand and a book in the other. I hope you have a good time on vacation! You'll need to have a readathon when you get home!

  4. I'm in the same boat. Finally going on vacation without the kids and I can't figure out how to fit reading it. I get carsick if I read in the car, so that's at least 36 hours without a book. Imagine the reading I could have accomplished! I'm trying to take my husband into listening to audiobooks and have even gone so far as to look for something that might interest him, but he doesn't seem too enthused. There won't be any time while we're in Florida to read since he wants to spend every waking moment in a theme park, so the car is my only hope.

I hope you have a fabulous time and figure out some way to smuggle literature.

  6. Oh gosh Marce I just had to deal with this on my 5 day vacation with my boyfriend! He gets so ummm, dare I say *jealous* of the books/kindle so I try to leave those out of the picture when he's around.....but the withdrawal, omg!!!! We compromised - I read one book there and one book on the way home and I did not blog the entire time. We ended up having a fabulous vacation. I wish you the best of luck and peace, fun, adventure and joy on yours! Where are you going? someplace exciting?

  10. When my friends and I went for a road trip for San Francisco to Las Vegas (8-9 hours!) they made me promise not to read. Not even once. They're my best friends like that. Haha.

I'm sure you can do it. Just enjoy your vacation, and maybe visit a bookstore or two just to satisfy you a little bit more ;)
