As a blog reader, it doesn't matter to me as long as I know what the scale is. I like using half stars myself because I have such a hard time choosing sometimes! I don't use my half stars often, but I like knowing they're there.

It's very rare that I don't finish a book. The last one was at the end of last year. I didn't mention it on my blog at all since it wasn't for review or anything. I did rate what I had read and write a little bit about it on GoodReads. It also went on my "could not finish" shelf.Jen at Introverted Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04804424405257091608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1787660033880172725.post-88142951035912503402010-06-27T21:36:57.673-03:002010-06-27T21:36:57.673-03:00If I have abandoned a book, I don't do a revie...If I have abandoned a book, I don't do a review, technically speaking. But I plan to do a single post, listing all the books I abandoned and why I did so. I won't be rating them, however.

As for the 1/2 thing, I don't think it matters much, unless you really want to have more thresholds to judge the books you read. If you can handle 10 bars fine, then you should be good. On the other hand, if you think it's too much, then you could drop it. Whatever you are comfy with. I don't think a reader would worry about that. Maybe I am too thick or sthg, but I somehow don't see much difference between a 4 and a 4-1/2.Athirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03366654538383603004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1787660033880172725.post-65774600372029128622010-06-27T00:19:55.688-03:002010-06-27T00:19:55.688-03:00I do not review a book that I abandoned, but I do ...I do not review a book that I abandoned, but I do mention it in a weekly or monthly wrap-up. I try to keep my ratings as simple as possible, and the half rating would just complicate things for me. While I have reviewed unfinished books before, I try to explain why I chose to abandon the book as well as mentioning any good points, since others may enjoy it.

Good luck with your decision!Alexia561https://www.blogger.com/profile/10797515620050469395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1787660033880172725.post-85824920302107527062010-06-26T12:36:07.498-03:002010-06-26T12:36:07.498-03:00I am one of those that wishes Amazon had 1/2 ratin...I am one of those that wishes Amazon had 1/2 ratings. I don't use 1/2 star ratings (I have a very idiosyncratic system) but sometimes you need the extra subtle distinctions.
