I haven't read a lot this year so far so I am going with my Top Five

Adult Fiction
My Review 4 1/2 - This is one of the most emotional heart wrenching dark family horror stories I have ever read but with an alluring character.......

Psychological Thriller
My Review 5 - This is one of the best unreliable character driven books I have read.

Novel
My Review 4 1/2 - The book had me engaged and very intrigued with the imaginary friend world but once the crime took place the book took on a suspenseful adventure......

Adult Fiction (not erotica)
My Review 5 - I loved reading about adults who find themselves, you are always growing and the unorthodox romance set this apart from the romance books you expect.

Thriller
My Review 4 1/2 - Ackerman is the craziest, cruelest killer I have ever read about so to mix it up with sadistic cult killers also, terrorizing to say the least.

I look forward to networking and seeing your top reads so far.

  9. I have a few of those on my to-read list. What can't life have scheduled reading times, like it has night for sleep?

  10. Wow! That Believe Like a Child is too much for me. I read Living Dead Girl and could sleep for nights... With kids and as a teacher, it is just too heartbreaking.

  12. Glad to see Human Bobby is still right up there - one of the most underrated books I think!

I have had good reads this year, but none really jumped out yet... apart from the one non-fiction book about how to plot a novel since I learned something new, and made me think more when I read fiction in terms of its storyline...

  13. I read a lot of dark, painful books but just not sure I can face Believe Like A Child. Some of the others I've added to my wishlist and I know I've got the Ethan Cross series on my TBR stack. Great list Marce

  14. Thanks for the recommendations. I have been looking for a new thriller to read and Ethan Cross sounds quite scary! A really great murder mystery/psychological thriller that I could not put down this summer is "the gemini factor" by author philip fleishman (www.philipfleishmanmd.com). serial murders committed in two different countries, at exactly the same time and manner are unheard of until this book (such a unique concept!). to give you a bit of the book flavor here is a brief rundown of one of the murders, "location is toronto. inspector McTavish is staring down at the body of a young lady positioned in a bed of iris, her throat is slashed to the extent her head is almost off and her hands are placed to cover her empty eye sockets. This is not a random murder, but it is the first of more to come. What McTavish doesn't know is that across the US in Tucson, Sgt. Ronstadt is viewing an identical crime scene. This novel will shake you and up leave you speechless! Definitely give it a read if you enjoy crime fiction(I bet you can’t guess who the killer is!)

  16. people are realizing that this is a far better way of enjoying a book since the book can be selected and purchased almost instantly. Online retailers report that the sale of eBooks has outstripped those of printed books which indicate the increasing popularity of these Psychological Thriller Kindle Books Store.
