My Top Ten of 2012

Welcome to Tea Time with Marce, thanks for coming over........

It was a very hard first half of the year, a long reading slump due to grieving but an amazing second part of the year for reading.  I will not make my goal of reading 52 books but I am still pleased, I am currently reading #47.

I love Thrillers, Suspense and Mystery but overall I am an Eclectic reader.

Suspense, Classic - Love Love Love, this was an early read of the
year and stayed #1 easily

Memoir - Shocking but amazing

Thriller - Highly recommend, more need to read

Thriller - Highly recommend, my favourite character, Talanov
Most recommended book this year

YA - Deserved the hype and I don't do YA but wow, this
will pass the test of time for years to come

Suspense - My Favourite author

Thriller, Suspense - 2nd in a series, can't wait to continue

YA - I was really impressed, memorable

Graphic True Crime - 1st taste, I will do more True Crime for sure

Dark YA, Mystery, unique story

If your not participating in the meme, please leave your favourite book of the year in the comments.  I look forward to networking with everyone this week.

Happy Holidays

  1. I didn't include January First on mine, because my blog is strictly YA. But wow, that book blew me away. I couldn't imagine being in Jani's parents' position, and all the strength and courage that must have taken.

  25. I absolutely have to read Rebecca. I read and loved New Girl, which I found out afterwards was a modern version of Rebecca, and have been meaning to read it ever since. New Girl was YA drama overload, but I like that sort of thing on occasion.

  26. I read Rebecca years ago. Have you read My Cousin Rachel? Also by Du Maurier. That's a good one too!

  43. Rebecca is one of my all time, if not my favourite, book of all time. I've read it many times and it's always gives me a smile when I see it on somebody else's list. I don't know what else you've read by DDM but Jamaica Inn is also an excellent read and My Cousin Rachel has a great theme - don't know if you've already read them?

  45. oooo Rebecca!! A classic for sure. I'm looking to buy a nice hardbound edition because I know it's a book I will re-read over the years. :-D

  46. Rebecca is such an amazing novel that it is not hard to see why, once you read it, nothing could supplant it from the top spot of the year. I can't think of any year, or at least very few, that had I read Rebecca it wouldn't be my favorite novel of the year. It sets the standard for gothic fiction...sets the standard and it broke the mold. So glad you read and enjoyed it.

  47. Great choices Marce, 4 are on my TBR stacks for 2013 and you already know January First made my list. I'll be keeping an eye out for Primal and Department Thirteen, my favourite genre used to be suspense/thrillers but I've fallen in love with so many other genres since starting my blog, now I'm a very eclectic reader.
I hope 2013 brings you peace and many more reading adventures :)

  48. Love your choices and haven't read many of them , except for fault in out stars. I am reading Rebecca now though and am happy to know you loved it!

    Happy new year!

  49. I couldn't narrow it down because I read a lot of awesome books this year. Ironically, last night I was watching the OWN Network, a show entitled "Where Are They Now?" and there was a segment on the little girl, Jani who's father wrote "January First". So sad but very interesting. Seeing we have similar likes and dislikes, I have just added 10 more books to my "hopefully in my lifetime TBR list" lol. From our house to you and your's, have a very Healthy, Happy and Blessed New Year Marce!!!!!!!
