Monday - What I am Reading and Mailbox

It's Monday, What are You Reading.  Sheila over at One Persons Journey has an incentive for networking so go over and have fun while adding to your Wishlist.

And

Mailbox Monday is now on a blog tour.

This month's host is Julie at Knitting and Sundries, a new blog to me and her quote is 'Never judge a book by its movie" - ain't that true! Visit every week this month to see links to the latest and greatest books arriving in mailboxes! Be aware, though, visiting can lead to book envy and toppling TBR piles!

I completed Silence of the Lambs, brilliant, if you can't handle visual but reading doesn't affect you much, I definitely recommend the book.

I am currently reading, The Grand Delusion, go here for a sneak peak chapter.  It is the 2nd book, a Manufactured Identity thriller which so faris still my favourite of the year.

What is next?.........

I think The Sweet by and by, Todd Johnson.  I am trying to read from shelves and not download for my Kindle but seriously I am loving my Kindle more than books :-0

And/Or

The Perfect Love Song, for review, a get ready for the Holiday's read.

What I received in my Mailbox - The Grand Delusion by Heath Sommer and Murder on the Down Low by Pamela Samuels Young, this is for review.  I really enjoyed her book Buying Time, definitely recommend you read that one, it had great exposure around the blogosphere.

Have a great Reading Week, I look forward to networking with you this week.

  3. I think I'll pass on The Silence of the Lambs. The movie scared me to death! But it was so good. And the way my imagination is... I probably wouldn't sleep for weeks to come.

Like you, I'm enjoying my Kindle, but had to put it aside to read the library books I currently have checked out. I did purchase a few books to take with me over Thanksgiving weekend when I travel home.

  5. Silence of the Lambs is the only one I have read on your list. I found it horrific but enthralling reading though.

I have Anita Shreve Strange Fits of Passion and The romantics by Pankaj Mishra for this week.

  13. Having also been tagged by Nina, I thought I'd drop by to say hello. I read The Silence Of The Lambs a while ago and really enjoyed it - much better than the film. Anyway, nice to meet you, I've enjoyed my visit.

  15. Wow, you have a nice selection this week. I had only one in my mailbox. It was an online win, and its an MG novel, but I've been having a lot of fun feeling like a kid...lol what an awkward time that was ugh. You can read about it here http://blog.juliealindsey.com/

  16. They all sound very good. I know what you mean about loving to read on the Kindle - but my physical TBR stack is so high that I have to get some books off of it before it topples over. Happy reading!

  17. All of those titles are new to me. I have a Nook and I am loving it, too! I was dead set against ereaders at first, but now I can't live without it! Here's my Mailbox. Happy reading!

  22. You love your Kindle more than books? Wow. I haven't heard that said often. I don't know, I haven't got an e-reader, except the tiny iPod.

    Happy reading this week!

  25. I'm always a bit nervous about thrillers/mysteries despite truly loving them. Mostly it's because, when it's done well, I can't sleep until I'm finished. Can't wait to see some of the reviews!

  26. Research and wishlist books make up the bulk of my reading last week. Here's what I'm reading this week.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We'll be reading Murder on the Down Low almost together! I'll have to watch for your review. I've never read anything by this author before, but this one seemed like it would be a good read.

Although I'm not a huge fan of eBooks, I think it may be because I don't have a portable reader, and to read one, I'm tied to my computer screen. Since I spend far too much time on it already, reading a book on it is understandably not my favorite pasttime!

Enjoy all of the great reads!

  28. I am reading a chunky book right now and I so wish I had it on an e-reader. It would be easier on the hands. I have the Sweet By and By on my wish list. I will watch for your review on it. Enjoy!

  29. Silence of the Lambs scared the beegeeesus out of me. Really really really frightening. Just read with the lights ON!

  30. I didn't realize that Silence of the Lambs was a book too, how did that escape me! I feel dumb now, lol. But really intrigued too.

  31. Goodluck this week! All the choices you might read look really good.

  32. Is this 'THE' Silence of the Lambs? Creepy!

I remember running out of the room and telling my husband to tell me when it was okay to come back. Back in the day when the music was my clue to leave :).

    Have a wonderful week.

  33. I love all the covers you have on your post! I've never read or watched The Silence of the Lambs, but I should really get to it at some point!

  34. I have The Silence of the Lambs somewhere, but I haven't read it. After seeing the movie, I'm not sure I want to, lol. Happy reading!
