This has been on my Wishlist since last year after I read a review over at Jacki's blog Lovely Little Shelf. I recently read that it is about to be released as a movie.
Anyone interested in reading and discussing with me? To read by December 9th.

Book Summary from Amazon
The gripping international bestseller about motherhood gone awry.
Eva never really wanted to be a mother—and certainly not the mother of the unlovable boy who murdered seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his sixteenth birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin's horrific rampage in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklyn. Uneasy with the sacrifices and social demotion of motherhood from the start, Eva fears that her alarming dislike for her own son may be responsible for driving him so nihilistically off the rails.
In theatres December 9, 2011
I loved this book. Very compelling. Can't wait to see the movie!
ReplyDeleteI've already read the book; very powerful. I won't have time to read it again by Dec. 9th, but it would be fun to join in the discussion!
ReplyDeleteI read this book as well and really liked it even though it can be a bit disturbing here and there! Can't wait to see what you think about it!

OMG, he killed so many peope and one of them is a teacher. Eeeck. I seriously want to see this movie. I know for sure it's going to be creepy. And I love creepy books and movies.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see so many of you read it already, look forward to reading your reviews after and discussing it.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a twisted book so it may be my cup of tea (no pun intended). I'll let you know if I get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I like your badge. I'll come visit again.
I'm in. I'm reading it at the moment but am only on around page 100. Its very complelling and a real page turner so far
ReplyDeleteI borrowed it a while back but wasn't in the right mood to read it (it's kinda thick with lots of words and small font... so I know it requires a lot of attention/focus). I won't be able to read it by 12/9 though... I think for this one I may watch the movie first and if I like it I'd read the book later... I know usually the books are better, but sometimes I just want to know the story and movies are easier (e.g. I only read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but watched all 3 movies just to learn how the story ended). But if I change my mind about the read along I'd let you know!
ReplyDeleteMarce, I think I may be interested. I'm going to see if I can get it from my library and start it. I'll see what i think.
ReplyDeleteI read this a couple of years ago and it was excellent!
ReplyDeleteSounds like this will bring some good discussion, thanks for being interested.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely include a linky so everyone can add their review, even old ones.
Neither the book or the movie sounds like My Cup Of Tea.
ReplyDeleteOh my, this does sound intense. I hadn't heard of this before.
ReplyDeleteI would love to, but I doubt I will be able to get to it. I will however be interested in following your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to read this by Dec 9th but a book by Shriver is definitely on my list. I must have missed that this one was coming out in the movies this year.
ReplyDeleteCount me in!
ReplyDeleteI think that I may join you in this discussion.
