What am I reading now.....
So I anxiously waited for Jan 1st to start Uglies by Scott Westerfield :-0 I hate to admit it but its just ok for me, i'm half way finished. The writing is great but am I interested NO..... This was out of my norm so we will see. Hope to have the review up this week, I read approximately 1 book a week.
I finished last week......
The Widows Season, a mystery. I loved it.
What am I reading next....
I'm a mood reader so who knows, I have changed my mind 3 times already since starting Uglies.

I didn't love Uglies either. It was OK....
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan either. Pretties was even worse for me, I couldn't stand the way they talked.
ReplyDeleteBoth The Uglies and A Widow's Season were on my wish list at Paperback Swap and they just got granted last night! Sorry to hear you don't love The Uglies ... but I think that happens when there is so much hype about a book sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI'm a mood reader too. I thought Uglies would have been wonderful. Well, you can't go by a title.

This series is on my wish list. Maybe it'll get better?
ReplyDeleteSorry Uglies isn't working for you. I haven't read it, but my husband really enjoyed the whole series.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you aren't loving Uglies, I know how much you were looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Beautiful Creatures! I can't seem to get into the story. I keep putting it down and reading something else.
ReplyDeleteI started the Uglies but ended up selling it about 1/3 through. It was my only copy at my used bookstore at the time, haha. I never did pick it back up, but probably will at some point. I loved the idea but the characters didn't really grab me. I'll be curious to see what you think once you're done.
ReplyDeleteI'm very much a mood reader also -- I change my mind a lot :-) I haven't tried Uglies but didn't think it sounded like a book I wanted to try, at least not right now.
ReplyDeleteSorry Uglies isn't really working for you! I know I liked it a few years back, but books definitely speak differently to different people. Hope you feel in the mood to read the rest! :)
ReplyDeleteIt took awhile for me to get into the Uglies but once I did, I really like the series.
ReplyDeleteI have heard so many great things about Scott Westerfield's series, but I've never been in the mood to pick it up. You're a moody reader...guess I am a moody book shopper...lol.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the Uglies series either but they are on my wishlist - I wonder if it will grow on you? Hoping it gets better :)
ReplyDeleteI liked the first Uglies book, but it got worse for me from then on. My favourite Scott Westerfield book is Peeps- that one was way better than the whole Uglies series.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
I wasn't crazy about it either, but I'm not a big fan of dystopian novels. I only read it because one of my groups chose it as a monthly read. Most of them loved it, so I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wasn't in love with it!
