Personal on goings......
What a week it has been. My mom got knee replacement and so I took the week off to be with her and assist. She is doing amazing with being mobile every few hours and doing what the Dr. ordered, tomorrow is first check in. Staying home is harder than I thought, goodness me.
My best friend lives in the US, I miss her lots. Another good friend/colleague leaves the island in a couple of weeks to go back home in Canada, very sad, my friends are moving overseas.
School is out this Wednesday, summer is truly officially here now.
And my full reading groove is not back but I am reading, I keep getting pulled to grief books, oh how I want this phase to be over.

And on to the books before I ramble to long.
I reviewed this one, great book, I think everyone will enjoy. My Review 4 1/2

I just completed this, need to review this week, it was good also.
I think I may read this next....
If interested, my 2nd personal countdown post about moving into my home. I will be sharing once a month.
Summer and grief books are usually not such a fitting combination. Hope you will manage to get out of it. On the other hand you are reading! Good luck with picking out new stuff for your new house, shopping is one of the good parts.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see your mom is doing so well!
ReplyDelete*hugs* Sounds tough. I hope you're mom is better soon. SO sorry about your friends.
ReplyDeleteOh, your book selections look so tempting. I'm glad your mom is doing better.
ReplyDeleteNow I want to see what's happening with your home.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
A busy week for you. Glad you are doing okay and your mother is feeling a bit better. I always love to browse your blog for books--we have similar tastes.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how quickly they bounce back after a knee replacement? I was in your shoes a few years ago when my dad had his. I hope your mother continues her speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your friends. Hopefully, with Skype or FaceTime, you can remain close and in touch!
I hope your mom continues to heal nicely :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend, I'm off to check out your review.
Have a lovely week!
My dad had knee replacement surgery a couple years ago, and it did wonders for him. Wishing your mom a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteHope your Mum improves steadily. Its always so good when the patient also cooperates and does what is expected of them.
ReplyDeleteI dislike reading grief stricken books as it depresses me and makes me think of the situation for a very long time. Strangely enough the most gruesome murders dont effect me the same way!
Glad that your mom is recovering well! I hope she gets moving without inhibition very soon.
ReplyDeleteMemoirs Of An Imaginary friend sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteGlad your mum is doing well, she won't know herself when she's fully recovered. Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend caught my eye. I think many of us who've suffered loss and grief continue to be drawn to that type of story, supplemented with the happy stuff but I guess I see the 'grief' stories as natural and also hopeful. We endure and keep moving, no matter how small the steps. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI wish your mother a speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteYour new home looks lovely!
Read on!

ReplyDeleteLike you, I have been in an awful slump since the beginning of the year, reading 1 book a month if lucky. I hope we both get jump started soon!!!
ENJOY your week.
