Happy New Year. Sheila over at Book Journey has an incentive for networking so go over and have fun while continuing to add to your 2011 Wishlist.
First read of the year
I decided to start the year with my simple pleasure, a Verse Novel by Lisa Schroeder. This one was on a few favourite 2011 lists also.
I completed this trilogy this year, the 1st was my favourite of the year. My review. Out Jan 19.
I think this is next, I have heard so much about the series.

I'm finishing up a book that I started a few days ago called The Poison Tree, which is quite the psychological thriller thus far. Very well written and I'm enjoying it. Now, I just need to find the time to read it today!
ReplyDeleteMy first read of the year was one I started after Christmas, The Diva Cooks a Goose by Krista Davis. I'm now reading The Heroine's Bookshelf for book club.
ReplyDeleteI started Poser in 2011 and am still reading it!. But I read 52 Tips for a Year - tips for each week in 2012!
ReplyDeleteWell I've got some spill overs from last year but am excited to jump into new books! The Dexter series looks awesome!
ReplyDeletexo,
La Toya (La Toya, Literally.)
I love the cover of The Day Before. And Dexter seems like a really cool read! Haven't read the book or seen the TV show, but now I want to :)
ReplyDeleteThe Day Before sounds really good! Enjoy all your reads!
ReplyDeleteSerial Killer Challenge sounded good to me but I was afraid I would find enough good reads, lol and you start out with an excellent looking choice. I am going to follow this year to get ideas for next.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
I opened 2011 with Love in a Headscarf and ended it with (still reading) Naked Heat.
ReplyDeleteI discovered books in verse this year and love them too. I'll have to look for The Day Before.
ReplyDeleteExplosive Eighteen - an Explosive Letdown if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteI started with Mockingjay which I never finished before (I started over). I'm actually not super excited about starting with this one (I usually start with a book I've been super excited to read) but my sister was reading it so we thought we'd read it together. I really liked Catching Fire but just don't think I was in the right mood to start with this one!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Marce! I look forward to your Dexter series reviews!
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of good things about the Dexter series, too. Might have to give it a look this year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and happy reading!
Great reads! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI started my year with the book, "Spinning" by Michael Baron.
ReplyDeleteI started my year off with historical cowboys! To be honest, for some reason (maybe the weather) I have been in a historical or action mood.
