Reading, Read and Gave up on........

It's Monday, What are You Reading  Sheila over at Book Journey has an incentive for networking so go over and have fun while continuing to add to your 2011 Wishlist.

I have had a weird couple of weeks of reading, almost in a slump, thank goodness for my current read, i'm loving it.

Started, will go back, didn't meet my immediate expectations

I don't think I will go back to Dracula (shocking, I know)  I enjoyed the beginning but once the letters were no longer the main characters I was immediately bored and mad that it changed focus just when I was engaged and wanting more.

I trudged through and finished this one but didn't enjoy it.

I'm not sure what is next, I guess I will try to finish Triangles and possibly give Dracula another chance.

  1. I've had a few abandons myself lately :) So I can definitely sympathize.

  2. Sometimes books just are bit of disappointment, no helping it, next week will be better. :)

  3. My reading had been slow in October. I had only read 2 books and 3 graphic novels this month so far... but I should finish at least 2 more by the end of the months. Still less than my typical 8-10 books a month though (graphic novels don't really count...)

  4. It always sucks when you have a bad week with books. Maybe next week will be better. :)

  5. I never really cared much for Dracula either and while I want to read Triangles I'm intimidated by the fact that is in verse.
I hope you find something great to read this week!

  6. That's a shame that you couldn't finish Dracula. I know what you mean by the changes but I still loved it. I also loved the Joe Hill book. Hope you have a better week this week.

  8. I hope you like Heart Shaped Box. It seems to be popular. It wasn't my cup of tea.

I had a busy week of reading. My goodness. I'm shocked at how many I finished. Come see what I read.

  10. It does sound like a reading slump. I think we're all distracted this time of year.

  11. Thanks for stopping by. Cemetery Girl was good but not what I expected. I like the gritty too and think L.A. Mental may end up being gritty but right now it is more of a mind game. Interesting though.

    Have a great week!!!

  12. I hate slumps! Thought Half Broke Horses was going to stink but was pleasantly surprised. Took all my self control to put fifty down but back to it now. Didn't realize the big dust up over the fan fiction Edward/Bella correlation. I myself didn't get that at all.

  13. I've had a ton of abandons in the last few months. I think it was because I was getting way too used to the quick chapters in James P. I'm still planning on taking some of your suggestions, namely "I'm not a serial killer"

  14. I abandoned Dracula as well and A Prayer For Owen Meany. Hopefully, I'll give them another try. Hope you have a good reading week.

  16. Jenny, I haven't tried again yet, it was during Mina (I think thats her name) journal entries. How about you?

  17. Going to look up Resuscitation on Goodreads, I love a good medical suspense so I'm hoping that's what it is :)
Hope you're on your way out of the reading slump!
