Monday - What are you reading?

Sheila over at Book Journey has an incentive for networking so go over and have fun while adding to your 2014 Wishlist.

I am currently reading

Book Summary - I love Samantha Hayes, she is a go to author for me.

Oh God, please don't let me die.

It has taken nearly two years for the Warwickshire village of Radcote to put a spate of teenage suicides behind it.

Then a young man is killed in a freak motorbike accident, and a suicide note is found among his belongings. A second homeless boy takes his own life, this time on the railway tracks.

Is history about to repeat itself?

DI Lorraine Fisher has just arrived for a relaxing summer break with her sister. Soon she finds herself caught up in the resulting police enquiry. And when her nephew disappears she knows she must act quickly.

Are the recent deaths suicide - or murder?

And is the nightmare beginning again?

I just completed, review coming up.  This is the 3rd in a trilogy I really enjoyed.

I reviewed but didn't enjoy

I have been invited to a Book Club and the choice is......

I am a little scared, her debut book was a DNF for me, sigh

  1. I saw M.J. Rose at BEA and got a signed copy of her latest book, The Collector of Dying Breaths. I recently purchased Where'd You Go, Bernadette. I've heard mixed things about it, but I'm hoping to convince one of my book clubs to read it.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. Thanks for visiting also. I considered The Collector of Dying Breaths but said to finish the ones I had by her first.

  2. Oh Marce, it's very rough to read a book you're not in the mood for in a book club. It has happened to me a couple of times. I try and if I can't give it a go, I just listen to the discussion about it.

Another author I'm not familiar with. This book sounds really good :)

  3. Did you join an in-person club? If so, I would make an effort with the book, and if you don't like it, DNF, then go anyway and add your opinion as to why it didn't work for you. If everyone praises the same book it could get boring :)
I have yet to read a Samantha (Sam) Hayes book, even though you recommended her to me. I will get one to read coming up this month. Thanks for the reminder.

    1. It is a In-person club so I will definitely give it a go. They don't usually read Thrillers either so they are in for a change, lol

Tell Tale was my favourite. I think you will enjoy Until Your Mine also.

  4. Holy cow! Before you die sounds amazing!

I agree with Rita about the book club :) Spice things up with a bit of rebel dissent. At least that's my style. Haha

  5. Before You Die sounds tense ... and awesome!! I haven't read anything by Samantha Hayes, putting the trilogy on my wishlist. I've actually heard good thing things about Where'd You Go Bernadette (not that I've read it) but hope you enjoy it. Have a great week and happy reading :)

    1. I think you will really like Samantha Hayes and MJ Rose trilogy. Our eclectic taste crossover many times.

  6. 'Before You Die' sounds really scary! Is it a book you can read on its own or do you have to read the other two books too in order to understand what's going on? Book club sounds like fun but I can imagine you're hesitant about starting with an author you have a "history" with! I hope you enjoy you reading!

  8. Where'd You Go, Bernadette is VERY different from Semple's first book. It's not your usual genre but I think you might like it.

  9. I've seen such great reviews for Where'd You Go Bernadette. Hopefully you won't find it as painful to read as her first

    Good luck with it

  10. I've only read the Bernadette book (which I did not like!) like your list of books.

  11. I'd read Before You Die just on the cover alone! I haven't read Bernadette yet so I can offer and encouragement. Have a great day.

  14. I really enjoyed Bernadette, but it took me a few times to actually start it and then get into it.
The thriller sounds amazing, though. I definitely want to read that one!

  17. Many people haven't liked Semple's first book, but this one is amazing! You wouldn't think that they are by the same author. Just start reading it! I cannot wait to hear your thoughts. :-)
