It's Monday, What are you reading?

Book Date now hosts It's Monday What Are Your Reading?  The meme that we use to share what we read this past week and what our plans are for the upcoming week.  It's a great way to see what others are reading and add to your own To Be Read List.

I'm currently trying to read 2 books.  I never do this but the book club choice I'm not in the mood for right now.

1) A netgalley read, The Visitor from a series, Graveyard Queen I love

Reviews of the others

2) The book club choice

I tried this one years ago and I just couldn't get through it.  I watched the movie for the first time, great movie.........

Author LS Hawker emailed me after I reviewed her book and agreed to Skype with my book club in April.  How exciting.

My Review - 4 1/2 stars

With 2 books going on I don't want to think about what is next or it will derail my reading.

Enjoy your week

  1. I loved The Boys in the Boat on audio but I'm not sure it's your kind of book.

  2. And I loved THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I liked the Daniel Craig version, but the Swedish version is better, IMHO. Or maybe I just liked it because they also made movies of the next two booksin the trilogy. How fun that the author of THE DROWNING GAME will Skype with your book club. Enjoy!

  3. I think I have The Restorer on my stacks. How cool for your book club! Have a great week.

  4. Ha ha! Yeah, I used to never read more than one book at a time. Then I started blogging. It gets easier to focus on more than one story at a time but I prefer still just focusing on one book at a time.

  5. I just bought a copy of The Restorer and I am super excited to read it! I am really glad to hear that you are enjoying this series. Have a great weekend!

  6. I might read two books at the same time, but it's actually me starting one title, picking up and reading another book, then going back to the original title :)

I loved the first two in that series: The Restorer and The Kingdom. I need to continue on with the next two now. Look forward to your final thoughts if you share them.

I never read Dragon Tattoo, nor saw the movie but I have the e-book on my Kindle if I do want to read it.

  7. Oh! I didn't realize the Amanda Stevens book was from that series. If they hadn't changed the cover I would have recognized it from your reviews.

The Boys from the Boat has been on my list for a while. I really hope I get to it this year.

That's really cool that LS Hawker will skype with you guys.

  8. The Boys in the Boat doesn't sound like my kind of book either. I have a hard time getting into nonfiction. I still need to read The Prophet, then I can start The Visitor. I love that series!

  9. I also start a number of books, but usually end up focusing on one. Enjoy your week!

  10. I like the looks of The Drowning Game.

I hope your book club enjoys Boys in the Boat.

ENJOY the rest of this week.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading

  11. Hope you have a great reading week!

  12. If I'm reading two books at the same time, I've to make sure they're of the different genre so I won't get confused. ;-)

I think I might be the last person to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. Haven't watched the movie, too. I'm afraid if I ever watched it I might not read the book, lol.

  13. Oh man, I HATE reading more than one book at a time, but I've currently got 3+ books going at the moment - I don't know how it happened, but I'm trying hard to read them up quick so I can get back to normal, haha.

Anyway, I hadn't heard of the author Amanda Stevens before, but I just read the blurb of The Visitor on goodreads and it sounds like something I'd like a lot - I have this weird fascination with cemeteries! - so I may just have to look into the series. :)

  14. I'd like to listen to The Boys in the Boat. I don't think I could read it. Your other reads look very good!

  15. The Boys in the Boat sounds good. I enjoyed Dragon Tattoo, but it did take a while to get into. Great stuff. Thanks for visiting.
