To all my blogging friends affected by Hurricane Sandy, my heart goes out to you. I guiltily have to admit that in Bermuda we do not really blink at category 1's so when I saw the disaster pictures after I was in shock. "How can that be, it was only a storm and then category 1, how did that happen, omg"
I hope your family and friends are safe and coping. I am saddened for you now. Hurricane, flooding, snow storm, Megastorm for sure.
On to books........
I am currently reading an ARC. It will be released November 27.
I started and think I will finish, decided to read slower. I think I will enjoy better this way.
I reviewed this incredible memoir here - My review
I also reviewed this one - My review

ReplyDeleteI like the look of The Neighbours and January First. Enjoy the week.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pictures after nature's devastation ... so sad.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading :)
I read a really interesting review on the book Why Have Kids. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts on it when you finish. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe devastation from Sandy is quite disturbing, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe cover of The Neighbors is nice and creepy - it looks perfect for you! lol
I might really like The Neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be reading January First soon, so I'll be back to read your review. :-) Those pictures are amazing. While the aftermath of the hurricane is horrifying, I love the fact that photographers were able to find beauty in it.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover on The Neighbors...and January First is definitely on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
My poor brother STILL has no electricity, and was told another 7-10 days :( he waited 2 1/2 hrs for gas on Saturday. The problem is the density of people, there are so many of them. Luckily my mom and other brother were fine, and the only issue with the one is his electric, no loss or damage unlike some who now have nothing. Now it's going to get very cold and then trouble is really going to start!

The cover of In the Belly of Jonah grabbed my attention. Those I know that were hit by Sandy had minor damage and have power back. My heart goes out to those that don't as of yet.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are beautiful, but sad too. I feel for everyone dealing with this storm's aftermath :(
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Why Have Kids quite a bit, it made me ask myself a LOT of questions.
I did not anticipate the devastation caused by Sandy. My thoughts and prayers go out to those devastated by the storm.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of The Neighbors. Hurricane Sandy has done so much damage, it's awful.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos of Sandy - went to a huge conference this weekend in St. Louis and met two people who had the actual eye pass over their town. I'm a Missouri girl and can't even imagine having a hurricane - so tragic and so sad.
ReplyDeleteWhatcha readin' this week @ the Brunette Librarian :)
January First was heartbreaking, wasn't it? I can't imagine what I would do if put in that situation.
ReplyDeleteWhy Have Kids sounds like such an interesting premise. I really like books that make you think about your choices as a parent.
ReplyDeletei was very surprised at the devastation of sandy. i don't think anyone could quite grasp the idea in a place where it happens very rarely.
ReplyDeletethank you for visiting my blog. i love discovering new blogs through memes. enjoy your new books!
My heart goes out to all who were affected by Sandy as well. I can't even imagine!
ReplyDeleteAs for your books, I very anxious to check them out- can't wait. In the meantime I am reading "The Sacred Impostor" by J. R. Lankford, the 3rd book in the "Jesus Thief" series. A great thriller!
