E-book Technical Difficulties, what do you do?

My Pondering Thought....

When you download a book and realise while reading there are technical difficulties, what do you do?

Also, please comment on what e-book you have.

My example of Technical Difficulties

I read The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright (BTW - I loved it)

There were a couple of sentences missing, possibly 2 and symbols in place of ' etc.

Do you think this is something I should email to Amazon?

I think because I loved the book it didn't matter and I do recommend it just not on Kindle at this time. I love my Kindle so this didn't make me rethink purchasing it.

My review of The Wednesday Letters if interested.

  2. Did you purchase the ebook from Amazon? I've heard of issues with pdf's and other non-kindle downloads to a Kindle. I guess I'd let Amazon know because if you bought it from them you should get first rate quality. I haven't experienced less than first rate Kindle editions so maybe it's a fluke. I hope you get a satisfactory answer. Maybe you could blog about what action Amazon takes with this. Good luck!

  3. Marce:

What a lovely blog! I was dropping by to return your visit to my blog and what do I see? A book blogger who loves tea. But that's me as well. My favorite blends are Earl Grey and Scottish Breakfast. Oops. I haven't gotten into e-books yet. Plan on doing so this year.

  4. That sucks! I was planning to get one sometime, is this common? I'm guessing you should contact Amazon (if you bought the book from them), you paid for the book and the kindle! If I bought a book that had a few pages missing, I'd probably do the same. I know, pages are different from sentences, but I think that should be made know to the publishers.

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I read the Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway on my kindle earlier this week or late last week and there were a few times when two words ran into each other and formed one. I don't remember where it was in the book but it wasn't words you'd normally blend together.

  6. I haven't had a major problem with my Kindle yet. I sometimes have spacing problems but nothing like you described. I would e-mail Amazon and describe the problem so they can fix it ... and who knows, maybe they will give you something for taking the time to do it.

  7. That happens to me, too with my Kindle. There will be random "&" signs inbetween random words. So I think you should, I mean who likes to read a book with mistakes?

    Great post!

  8. I have wanted a Kindle for ages, but I have never heard of this issue. That would drive me nuts!
