A walk down memory lane......

I had an amazing family moment yesterday with my 5 year old daughter and her dad.  I had been telling her about the movie E.T. and she said we have to get it.  I remembered it being a favourite of mine and seeing it in the theatre.

It was really amazing to watch again through her eyes.  The sitting on the edge of her seat, sad, laughing and the ultimate cry at the end, awwww.  What a beautiful experience down memory lane.

The book moment I can't wait to experience with her is The Secret Garden.  My review of that one is here.

  1. I remember both loving ET and being terrified by him! Of course, then I got used to the little alien and the terror melted away. :) I had an ET doll that I took camping one year. There are lots of pictures of me cuddling up to him in the trailer. I'm glad your daughter loved it, too!

  5. That's one of the best parts of being a parent - experience something for the first time all over again.

  7. Aw. I do love that about being a mother. There is something so special about sharing your favorites with your kids and watching them appreciate them as much as you do!

  9. That is one of my favorite movies. Still makes me cry.

I started to listen to the Secret Garden on audio but it made me feel really sad too, for the little girl. Maybe I should finish and see what happens. :)

  10. I will always remember taking our oldest daughter who will be 32 in January. She was 17 mos old and the people sitting in front of us could not get over her. She could speak quite well and they were floored at her reactions.

Still reading Secret Garden with my son. While it's taking us forever we're liking it.
